EEA/EU Family Visa

Documents Required

Basic Requirements:

• Visa Application Form: Fully completed and signed.
• Photographs: Two recent, high-quality, passport-sized photos (3.5 x 4 cm) meeting photo specifications.
• Passport: Must be:
  • Valid for at least three months beyond the return date.
  • Issued within the last 10 years.
  • Contain at least two blank pages.
  • Accompanied by copies of the identification page and all previous Schengen visas.
• UK Residency: A UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.
• Proof of Travel: Round-trip travel tickets, including:
  • Detailed travel itinerary covering the entire stay.
  • If traveling by car: Driver’s license, car registration, and ferry/Eurotunnel tickets.
• Proof of Accommodation: Hotel booking or invitation letter from the host, including their proof of residence (if applicable).
• Travel Medical Insurance: Coverage of at least €30,000, valid for all Schengen countries, for medical emergencies and repatriation.

Family Relationship Documents:

• Proof of Relationship to EEA/EU/Swiss Family Member:
  • For Spouses: Original and copy of the marriage certificate (with certified translation if not in English or Greek).
  • For Children: Original and copy of the full birth certificate, showing both parents’ names (with certified translation if not in English or Greek).
  • For Parents: Original and copy of the full birth certificate of the EEA/EU/Swiss national child (with certified translation).
• Family Member’s Passport: Original and copy of the EEA/EU/Swiss national’s valid passport.

Additional Requirements for Minors:

• Full Birth Certificate: Showing both parents’ names, with a certified translation if required.
• Parental Consent: Notarized consent from both parents, if the minor is traveling with only one parent or alone.
• Parents’ Passports: Copies of both parents’ passports (bio and signature pages).
• Guardianship Documents: If applicable, certified proof of legal guardianship.
• Proof of Sole Custody: If only one parent holds custody, provide the relevant court order or death certificate.

Important Notes:

• Visa Fee: Family members of EEA/EU/Swiss nationals are exempt from the visa fee when traveling together.
• Minors under 12 years old: Visa fee is waived.
• Minors aged 12 and above: Full visa fee applies.
• All documents must be presented in original with one photocopy and recent (issued within 30 days).
• All documents not in English or Greek must be translated by a certified translator in the UK.
• The Greek Consulate reserves the right to request additional documents or an interview.

Photo Specifications

Applicants must submit two recent passport-sized photographs that meet the following specifications:

• Size: 3.5 x 4 cm (approximately 1.2 x 1.6 inches).
• Background: Light, plain background (white or off-white) to ensure clear facial visibility.
• Colour and Quality: High-resolution, in colour, and printed on normal photographic paper (camera print), preferably non-glossy.
• Pose: Full face, facing forward with forehead and ears visible.
• Expression: Neutral, with a closed mouth (no smile).
• Accessories: No sunglasses, hats, or head coverings, unless worn for religious or cultural reasons.
• Age of Photo: Taken within the last 6 months from the date of application.
