Overview

A Short-Stay Type C Schengen Business Visa allows non-EU citizens to visit Greece for professional purposes such as meetings, conferences, networking events, contract signings, exhibitions, and other business-related activities. This visa is valid for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

This visa is suitable for:

  • Business professionals attending meetings, exhibitions, and conferences
  • Entrepreneurs exploring investment opportunities in Greece
  • Executives participating in trade fairs or seminars
  • Delegates visiting partner companies or signing agreements

Application Process:

  • Applications must be submitted in personwith a pre-booked appointment at a Greece Visa Application Centre (VAC) in London, Edinburgh, or Manchester.
  • Minors under 18 years oldmust be accompanied by both parents, or provide notarized consent if traveling with one parent or alone.
  • Applications can be submitted from 6 months up to 15 calendar daysbefore the intended travel date.

Processing Time:

  • Standard Processing:Up to 15 calendar days.
  • Consultation Requirement:Certain nationalities may require up to 3 weeks for additional checks with other Schengen states.
  • Further Review:Some applications may need up to 45 calendar days for detailed processing.
  • Applications from Manchester or Edinburgh:Add 5 working days to account for transfer to London VAC.
  • High-demand periods:Apply well in advance to avoid delays, especially during peak business travel periods.

Documents Required

Basic Requirements:

  • Visa Application Form: Fully completed and signed.
  • Photographs: Two recent, high-resolution, passport-sized photos (3.5 x 4 cm) following photo specifications.
  • Passport: Must be:
    • Valid for at least three months beyond the return date.
    • Issued within the last 10 years.
    • Contain at least two blank pages.
    • Accompanied by copies of the identification page and previous Schengen visas.
  • UK Residency: A UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.
  • Proof of Travel: Confirmed round-trip travel tickets, including:
    • Detailed itinerary covering the entire stay.
    • Fully paid return travel tickets with entry and exit dates.
  • Proof of Accommodation: Hotel reservation or invitation from the hosting company with address and contact details.
  • Travel Medical Insurance: Coverage of at least €30,000, valid for all Schengen countries, for medical emergencies and repatriation.

Proof of Finance:

  • Applicant’s Bank Statements:
    • Personal UK bank statement for the last three months, showing regular transactions and a minimum balance of £40 per day of stay.
    • Closing balance not older than 30 days from the application date.
  • If Sponsored:
    • Sponsor’s bank statements (last three months).
    • Sponsorship letter, stating the travel dates and purpose.
    • Proof of relationship (e.g., marriage/birth certificate).
  • For Business Trips Sponsored by Company:
    • Company bank statements (last three months).
    • Proof of signing authority (letter from company accountant or director).

Proof of Employment or Business Activity:

  • For Employees:
    • Employment letter from the HR department (original, dated within 30 days), confirming position, salary, and travel purpose.
    • Last three months’ payslips.
  • For Self-Employed Individuals:
    • Tax return form (latest year).
    • Self-employment letter, issued by an accountant, solicitor, or business bank manager (dated within 30 days).
    • Certificate of Incorporation (if applicable).
  • For Students:
    • Enrollment letter from the educational institution, confirming current attendance.

 Business-Specific Documents:

  • Invitation Letter from Company in Greece:
    • On official company letterhead, signed and stamped, detailing:
      • Full company address and contact information.
      • Purpose of the visit (e.g., meeting, seminar, conference).
      • Duration of stay and planned activities.
      • Name and position of the company representative.
    • If the Greek company is covering accommodation, this should be mentioned in the invitation letter.
  • Proof of Business Relationship:
    • Trade contracts, business correspondence, or meeting confirmations.
    • Event tickets (if attending a conference or trade fair).

Additional Requirements for Minors:

  • Birth Certificate: Full unabridged version showing both parents’ names (translated if required).
  • Parental Consent: A notarized consent letter from both parents if the minor is traveling alone or with one parent.
  • Parents’ Identification: Copies of both parents’ passports (bio and signature pages).
  • Proof of Guardianship: If applicable, legal documents confirming custody or guardianship.

Photo Specifications


Applicants must submit two recent passport-sized photographs that meet the following specifications:

  • Size: 3.5 x 4 cm (approximately 1.2 x 1.6 inches).
  • Background: Light, plain background (white or off-white) to ensure clear facial visibility.
  • Colour and Quality: High-resolution, in colour, and printed on normal photographic paper (camera print), preferably non-glossy.
  • Pose: Full face, facing forward with forehead and ears visible.
  • Expression: Neutral, with a closed mouth (no smile).
  • Accessories: No sunglasses, hats, or head coverings, unless worn for religious or cultural reasons.
  • Age of Photo: Taken within the last 6 months from the date of application.
